About Lamba Weekend
"Lamba" is Hindi for long, so the name simply means a long weekend. This site does one job: it takes an official holiday list, lays it over your weekly off, and shows where the long breaks are and how a few leave days can stretch them.
Who it is for
Working adults in India who plan leave: central government staff in Delhi/New Delhi, whose holiday list the planner starts from, and anyone else who wants to see their own State, bank or company holidays laid out the same way. It is not written for children.
Who publishes it
Lamba Weekend is published by ISHAA ESPORTS AND MOTORSPORTS LLP. It is an independent planner. It is not a government website and is not affiliated with the Department of Personnel and Training or any other government body.
How the content is made
Researched and drafted with AI assistance, checked against the sources cited on each page; publisher review recorded in our corrections log.
- Holiday dates are transcribed from the DoPT office memoranda for 2026 and 2027, which are linked on every page that uses them. Automated tests check every date against the weekday printed in the memorandum.
- Long weekends, bridge days and leave plans are calculated in your browser from those dates and your settings. The methods are explained on the leave optimizer page.
- Holiday data was last checked on 26 October 2026. The next scheduled check is by 31 January 2027, and again whenever DoPT issues a new memorandum or a change of date. If the data has not been checked by then, the site shows a warning at the top of every page.
- The site has no advertising and no analytics at present, and makes no requests to other websites. Links to sources open the official documents.
